Vikas Chawla is the Co-Founder of India’s leading digital marketing agency, Social Beat and India’s Largest Influencer Marketing Network, Influencer.in.
In 2012, he looked at the market need and started out with the idea of providing digital marketing solutions to SMEs. The journey of building a start-up and scaling it up has been extremely rewarding. In less than 3 years, his company has become a leading agency with a 40 member team and 100+ clients across the world.
As part of the digital initiative, he has run workshops in the past at IIM Ahmedabad, IIT Madras, MOP Vaishnav College, Vels University, CII, Entrepreneurs Organisation amongst others.
His past experience ranges from marketing, product management, sales & HR. His last corporate role was as Marketing Manager & Head of Digital Marketing at TI Cycles (Murugappa Group) handling the premium range of cycles. Vikas was instrumental in launching and scaling India’s first performance bicycle brand, Montra. He received the Digirrati awards at the Paul Writer Futurist CMO Conclave due to our efforts.
In the past, Vikas has worked with the manufacturing sector in India, the hospitality sector in India & UK and the e-learning sector in Europe. During his 3 year tenure at Murugappa, he was the Executive Assistant to Padma Bhushan M.V. Subbiah, Chairman of the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC). Prior to his MSc, he worked with the Tata’s for 2 years – had a stint with Tata Interactive Systems in Germany where he handled marketing at the global e-learning company. Vikas then worked in a generalist HR role at Taj Group of Hotels.
Vikas is a Management graduate from London School of Economics and hold a bachelor’s degree from Loyola College. He is a Mentor at Centre of Marketing at KCT Business School (Coimbatore), Advisory Member at Digital Academy India, Chairperson at LSE Alumni association Chennai & the youngest Executive Committee member of the British Business Group Chennai.
